John Bearder's World War II Diaries

Welcome to the Diaries of Major John A. Bearder. This is Volume 1. Each day of his service he tried to write that day's events. Of course sometimes he could not but he caught up to create a contemporaneous diary of daily life in his part of the War. I intend to put up one or two pages each day with his photograhs and souveniers to build, as they say, into a complete set of Diaries over time.

Let us begin at the beginning. It is August 1939 and you can see Private Bearder as he looked then. This is his introduction to the Diary
